It is that time of year when the striped socks are in, black dresses are fashionable, and pointed hats seem to be everywhere. A broom is the main mode of transportation and a kettle could not be blacker. Then to find the right color of green foundation is not an easy task. So many now have sunscreen in them. Yet, there is one thing that sets the entire look off and that is a familiar. Usually that is a cat but this year, just one problem. The cat is gray.
Sure he is loved. He comes to me when I call, not. He eats all the time. He is lazy. He does what he wants. He knows that he can herd me to the cat bowl to feed him. But he is not black. Tradition says he has to be black. How can one go out all fashionable with the wrong colored cat? It is going to be humiliating.
Maybe this year, just this year, a new trend could be gray cats? Why not? It is the most evil thing to do. Why everyone in their perfectly 45 degree pointed hats, evenly and matching striped stocks, and those little black dresses that were so in, may just need a gray cat this year. Yes, a gray cat will be the perfect accessory this year. A most Persian flaw this time of year.
