An Elf once asked a Dwarf why the Dwarf carried so much gear. The Elf pointed out that it was a lovely summer stroll, why have such a heavy load? The Dwarf grunted, “NEED TO BE PREPARED IN THE MINES. IT’S HABIT!”
A Human asked the Dwarf the same question. Also, why carry butterfly netting? Fishing rods? Winter clothing in such hot weather? The Dwarf replied: “NEED TO BE PREPARED IN THOSE MINES. IT’S HABIT!”
A Gnome would have asked but the Gnome was in the habit of conjuring the needed supplies from a bottomless pouch, so actually had more, random things.
The Hafling’s pouch was bigger, but weight far less because it was all food.
The Half-Orc scoffed at them all and looted the downed Blackguard.
